Welcome Back

Cotton Irrigation

The past week has been spent undertaking a Soil Expedition through some of the major broadacre cropping areas in Australia. Many kilometres have been driven and over 40 soil pits have been dug around Central New South Wales and the Eyre Peninsula of South Australia. Many soil types have been assessed with soil variability being distinct.

Many discussions have been had on management strategies for the winter cropping season ahead. Many land owners are weighing up options of Disc or Tyne planting machines, broadacre organic matter management at low input rates and the long-term benefits of Controlled Traffic Farming on different soil types.
