As the winter cropping season starts to draw to a close, its been a mixed end to the season.Spring rainfall has been scarce around much of the Eastern and Southern cropping regions, with sporadic bands of rainfall hitting certain areas. The Western Australian cropping regions had a rough early spring but have had some late rain which has made for lush road verges.
The Spring, with its unwillingness to provide rainfall across the board, harsh frosts and violent winds, have all taken its toll on this seasons crops. As the grain starts coming off the paddocks it will be interesting to see what areas have been able to maintain strong yields and which areas have been penalised by the spring.
