This week the National Soil Science Conference was held at the MCG, Victoria. There were delegates present from all over the country and was a great collection of current soil projects and some interesting outcomes from research projects. There were key focuses on Soil Carbon, Fertility, Contamination and Pedology.
On Wednesday we had a co-authored paper presented by Dr Alla Marchuk. The paper was titled: An alternative index to ESP to explain dispersion occurring in Australian soils when Na content is low
The paper gained some interest from researchers working on high potassium soils yet still see sodium like effects in their soils. There is still plenty of work to do in this space.
Exciting times ahead in soil management!
