This is a photo from the liquid sowing trials this season in Paraguay. The BlackSoil agronomy team from Argentina and Paraguay have done a magnificent job getting the trial work done on furrow conditioning, liquid phosphate, nitrogen, trace elements and high water rates in different soil types. With shifting climate patterns the research work is proving absolutely invaluable for maintaining field production for small scale landholders. Dealing with aluminium toxicity in the highly acidic oxisols, ferralsols has been the biggest step change for production. These soils are rapid drying and do not handle compaction. They saturate to shallow depth very easily.
