In the past week there has been a broad spread of strange weather conditions. A rain band has moved from the west, through parts of South Australia then up to the northern Victorian mallee and in to NSW, dumping some heavy rain in areas. Meanwhile, many areas are still suffering from severe drought conditions.
This week’s focus in Soil Expedition is looking at soil moisture around the country and how it is being monitored and managed.
The utilisation of subsoil moisture is going to be a key issue moving forward to well ensure that we are all maximising the Soil Use Efficiency of arable land.
